About the Jack-Rabbit Foundation

The Jack-Rabbit Foundation has been set up as a charity organisation in memory of our son, Jack in tackling the dangers of swimming pools and saving lives of very young children. Jack died in his family swimming pool quietly and quickly and in spite of his reluctance to go in or near the water himself.
The foundation, using the nickname given to Jack by his 8 year old sister, is already raising funds intended for the primary goal of saving lives of children under 6 years old.
While constant supervision and appropriate physical barriers are always the two primary essentials in this regard, the UK and continental Europe has no accessible survival programme for these most precious and exposed members of our families if and when they do go into the water unassisted. The foundation will use its funds raised to build awareness of water as a dangerous and multiple killer of our children in the UK and introduce the very support technique needed in the form survival swimming lessons. With recent press coverage about the need for better legal provision on pool surround fencing and an approach currently going to the government, our immediate and ongoing aim is to deliver the next level of safety.
